Install the App
Installing puts Rare Events on your home screen like a normal app —
it loads faster, keeps you signed in, and is required for notifications on iPhone.
No app store needed, takes about 20 seconds.
iPhone / iPad (Safari)

Open this page in Safari
It must be Safari — Chrome or the Instagram/Facebook browser won't show the install option. If you're in another app, tap ··· and choose "Open in Safari."

The square with an arrow pointing up, in the bar at the bottom of the screen.

Scroll down, tap "Add to Home Screen"
In the list of actions — it has a ⊞ plus-in-a-square icon. Then tap Add in the top corner.

Open Rare Events from your home screen
From now on always use that icon (not Safari). Then come back to Notifications and tap Enable.
Android (Chrome)

Tap Install when the banner appears
Or open Chrome's ⋮ menu (top right) and choose "Add to Home screen" → Install.

Then enable notifications from the Notifications page.
Why it matters: the installed app keeps your sign-in and in-progress reports on your device and is the only way iPhone allows push notifications. If it's already installed, you're all set — this page won't appear inside the installed app.
